Explanation of the conversion:

History: Vance Astrovic was born in Saugerties, New York to Arnold and Norma Astrovik. Vance was a latent mutant telekinetic who would have probably never realized his powers if not for the fact that he was visited by a future version of himself. Major Vance Astro of the Guardians of the Galaxy had decided to warn young Vance not to become an astronaut like he had and the psychic backlash of meeting his future self activated his latent telekinetic abilities. Vance soon ran away to develop and learn more about his powers. Of course, he wanted to escape the abuse of his father as well. In an attempt to evade a private detective that his parents had hired to find him, Vance became a wrestler in the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation under the alias of Manglin John Mahoney. While most of his opponents had superhuman strength, Vance used his telekinetic bolts to knock down opponents. While wrestling, he teamed up with the Thing, who was doing some serious soul-searching of his own. The Thing eventually convinced Vance to return to his parents, and his mother assured him that his father was attending a therapy program.

Mr. Astrovic continued to abuse his son, and Vance sought refuge in a team of super heroes, the Avengers. Ironically, Vance was rejected by his idol, Captain America because of his youth.

New Warriors #1 He was recruited by Night Thrasher as a founding member of the New Warriors under the name Marvel Boy II and met and later fell in love with another Warrior, Firestar.

Finally, the scorn and abuse he received from his father became too much for Vance to handle. In a rage of anger, Vance lashed out and accidentally killed his father. Although Vance was acquitted of first degree murder, he was found guilty of negligent homicide and sent to the Vault. At the Vault, Vance earned the respect of his overseers as well as that of his fellow inmates. He was instrumental in helping solve many conflicts in the prison, and helped the guards train in super-powered combat. After he was released on parole, he returned to the Warriors, this time as Justice II.

Vance participated in the assault on the home of the Gamesmaster in the Alps where the Gamesmaster mind controlled him into attacking Cable, Domino and Night Thrasher. Domino knocked him out with a neurological scrambler (New Warriors #46).

During one time-spanning battle with the Sphinx, Vance was sent back in time to discover that his father had been abused as a son too. Since then, Vance has strived to end the circle of abuse in the world.

Justice II and the other New Warriors teamed up with the Thunderbolts, Heroes For Hire, Spider-Man, Darkhawk, the Swordsman and Magdalene in protecting the city from the Elements of Doom II (Thunderbolts #8).

Justice II and Firestar went on to join the Avengers together. In a mistaken attempt to rescue Hawkeye from the Thunderbolts he battled Jolt II and with the Avengers and Thunderbolts battled Dominex (Avengers III #12).

Wolverine #134 Alongside Firestar and the Vision II he unsuccessfully attempted to subdue Wolverine when he was possessed by an alien and went on a rampage (Wolverine #134).

Justice II eventually won over his insecurities during the Avengers' battle with the robot Ultron.

Vance and Firestar recently went undercover to spy on the Triune Understanding religious movement. To cover this they pretended to take some time off from the Avengers.

He was among the heroes incapacitated by Graviton when he attempted to take over the Earth once again (Thunderbolts #57).

Note: In the alternate time line depicted in New Warriors #11 to #13 Vance was a member of the mutant underground lead by Magneto and went by the name Marvel Man. In the alternate future where the Guardians of the Galaxy come from an alternate version of Vance exists who goes by the name Major Vance Astro and sometimes Major Victory II.

Vance is in no way related to the first Marvel Boy, who was a man who wore the Quantum Bands before Quasar III and is now known by the name Blue Marvel. Vance passed his old Marvel Boy costume on to a young boy named David Bank, who has tremendous potential for super-powers. David became Marvel Boy III.

Trivia: The American Heritage Dictionary defines Justice as ''Fair treatment and due reward in accordance with honor, standards or law.''

Powers: Vance is a powerful telekinetic with the ability to move great weights as well as manipulate fine objects. He can effect a number of objects at one time. He can levitate himself and others, allowing flight, project psychokinetic blasts, and create force fields for himself and others.
