Explanation of the conversion: I decided to give Bumblebee a small gun just so he had some sort of weapon. I based
his size on an issue of the Marvel Transformers comic book where it stated that Bumblebee was 15 feet tall. Although this
write-up is meant to represent Bumblebee in his Generation One form, it also works for his Cybertonian and first Generation
Two forms.
History (Dreamwave comics): When civil war broke out on the planet Cybertron between the Autobots and Decepticons, Bumblebee joined
the Autobot cause.
Bumblebee was present under the command of Grimlock at the battle of Altihex where the Autobot
Overhaul was killed and Decepticon Seekers Thundercracker and Skywarp destroyed a transport full of neutral Cybertonians. Unable to save the city, the Autobots
helped evacuate civilians. After Decepticon leader Megatron killed the Autobot leader Sentinel
Prime, a new Autobot leader was chosen by the Council of the Ancients. Bumblebee was present when Optronix was given the
Matrix and reformatted into Optimus Prime. Three Decepticon assassins attempted to kill
Optimus, but were unsuccessful. Optimus then ordered a planet-wide evacuation of Cybertron (Transformers: The War
Within #1).
When Decepticon Military Operations Commander Shockwave lead a force of Decepticons against
the Autobot capitol of Iacon, Bumblebee was among the Autobots who defended the capitol (Transformers: War Within #3).
When Megatron and Optimus Prime disappeared in an accident with a space bridge, the Autobot and Decepticon forces
splintered into smaller factions. Bumblebee stayed with the Autobots under the leadership of Prowl.
Bumblebee was among the Autobots who followed Optimus Prime on his mission on board the
Ark and crash landed on Earth.
In 1984, when the Ark's computer re-activated, it rebuilt Bumblebee as in the form of an Earth car.
''C'mon, Huffer, get with it! I only require a drop of fuel to run, so I'm going to explore this whole planet --
especially since the Ark said so much of it is water, and Bumblebee's little levers love a good swim.'' - Bumblebee,
Transformers #1
Eventually the combined forces of the Autobots on Earth, and their human allies were able to capture the Decepticons. A
ship called the Ark II was built to take the Cybertonians back to Cybertron, along with some human companions, but the
ship exploded shortly after takeoff. The human allies were killed, but the Cybertonians were lost in the ocean, again in
statis lock.
Bumblebee and others were recovered by a rogue military unit and reprogrammed as slave war machines.
Bumblebee, Frenzy, Grimlock, Laserbeak, Prowl, Ravage, Soundwave
and Starscream were forced at attack the Smitco oil
refinery in the Arctic to display their power for sale to the highest bidder (Transformer: Generation One #2).
Megatron broke free and then freed his fellow Decepticons and Grimlock. Bumblebee and the other Autobots who were found by Lazarus were
abused by Megatron's troops, but were eventually by freed by Optimus Prime.
Bumblebee traveled to Cybertron along with Optimus Prime and a number of Autobots when arrested by Ultra Magnus.
Bumblebee was placed in command of the Autobot supply shuttle Orion, with Powerglide,
Seaspray, Cosmos, Warpath, Cliffjumper, Bumper and the Powerdashers
assigned to him. Their mission was to aid the Autobots on Earth. Upon arriving in the Earth system from transwarp space,
they witnessed the arrival of Sunstorm (Transformers: Generation One III #1).
Bumblebee and Spike went out for a drive in Cincinnati. They debated responsability and stopped robbers from attacking a
woman together (Transformers: Generation One III #9).
Bumblebee is the Autobots' little brother. He's small, eager and at times can be a bit of a smart-mouth. Yet for all his
wisecracks, he obviously idolizes the bigger robots, especially Optimus and Prowl. He is useful as a messenger and a spy;
he can go where other vehicles would not dare because he does not look threatening, and his relatively small size
occasionally enables him to use routes not available to the others. More than anything, Bumblebee wants to be accepted,
and this sometimes causes him to take chances he shouldn't.
Trivia: On the Transformers television show, the voice of Bumblebee is
played by actor Dan Gilvezan. Besides being released in yellow, the toy of
Bumblebee was released in red in the united states, and in other colors in other countries. Bumblebee was rereleased in
gold for Generation Two. Occasionally the toy of
Bumber was packaged in Bumblebee's place, in either red or yellow. The toy of Bumblebee is similar to that of
Glyph and Bug Bite. The toy of Bumblebee was rereleased as a commerative keychain. In Japan
chase versions of this keychain were black. They also released a miniature version of Bumblebee.
Powers: Bumblebee is smart and fearless. He can transform into a car. He can get up to 1.8 times more use out of a
unit of fuel than the next most efficient Autobot. Bumblebee is often called upon at times of low energy resources. His
visual acuity is incredible, as he can spot a 10" x 10", object at a distance of 48 miles on a clear day. His adaptability
to water environments makes him particularly important in undersea reconnaisance and salvage operations. He's an excellent
eavesdropper. He can hear a pin drop on the other side of a foot-thick concrete wall. He carries a laser pistol and can
utilize a standard Autobot jet pack.
Weaknesses: Bumblebee is physically one of the weakest of the Autobots and the most easily damaged. He's not as
fast as most, and has minimal firepower.
