Explanation of the conversion: Brawl's Unluck should usually manifest as his turret getting stuck in place. Since
Bruticus is impervious to radiation, I decided all his component robots should be too. Although this write-up is meant to
represent Generation One Brawl, it also works for his Cybertonian and Generation Two forms.
History (Dreamwave comics): Brawl was among the Cybertonians who joined Megatron in
his Decepticon army and started a civil war with the Autobots.
Shockwave lead the Decepticon attack on the Autobot
capitol of Iacon 8.2 million years ago. Among his troops were Astrotrain, Blitzwing,
Bludgeon, Brawl, Chopshop, Dirge, Frenzy, Octane, Onslaught, Ramjet, Tantrum, Venom and Vortex.
Brawl was teamed up with fellow Decepticons Onslaught, Swindle,
Vortex and Blast Off in at attempt to duplicate the success in creating the combiner robot
named Devastator. Their team was called the Combaticons and the united form for the five was
created called Bruticus.
After the Great Shutdown the Combaticons were locked away in a detention center, being seen as too dangerous to allow to
run loose. They were freed by Starscream, who planned to use them to conquor Earth.
Returning to Earth with the Combaticons, Starscream reformatted them into Earth-style vehicles and attacked the
Autobots remaining on Earth. Forming Bruticus, the Combaticons defeated Jazz, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack and
Windcharger. Only Ratchet and Brawn escaped capture, but as they made their way back to the Ark, they discovered it's
defenses on automatic, and had to fight their way inside. Bruticus followed them and Ratchet had to destroy the Ark in
failed attempt to destroy Bruticus. Starscream eventually captured Ratchet and Brawn, right as an Autobot shuttle and
Sunstorm arrived on Earth (Transformers: Generation One III #1).
Starscream took the Combaticons to an island where they were to train with their prisoner, the Autobot Sky Lynx. They were
attacked by Predaking under the command of Megatron. Predaking defeated Bruticus and Starscream retreated to the Nemesis,
where he found Megatron waiting for him (Transformers: Generation One III #10).
History (Marvel comics): The Combaticons were created on Earth in 1987 by Megatron when
he used one of Bombshell's cerebro-shells to tap into Optimus Prime's Matrix. When Prime
used the Matrix to create the Protectabots, Megatron created the Combaticons.
Brawl is loud. Whether he's talking, shooting, or merely moving, he makes a lot of noise - grating, clanking, booming
noise that irritates all those nearby, friend and foe alike. As unpleasant as that side of him is, there are other aspects
of his personality that his fellow Combaticons consider even worse. He has a hair-trigger temper and expresses his frequent anger with a savage fury truly terrible to behold, but, at least this seething rage that drives him, that makes him so unpleasant to be with, also makes him a terrifyingly effective warrior. He makes no secret of his blustering belligerence; the mere sound of his approach is enough to unnerve Autobots. His actual arrival can paralyze them with mind-numbing fear. If he weren't always so angry, Brawl might find this pleasing.
Trivia: On the Transformers television show, the voice of Brawl is
played by actor Tony St. James. Besides the original form Brawl took, he was
also released as a Generation Two toy and released by a Chinese company as Panzer. There have even been versions of Brawl
which are larger and smaller than the original. The toy of Brawl is similar to that of Armorhide.
Powers: Brawl possesses enormous strength and is resistant to most conventional artillery. In tank mode, he can
reach speeds of 45 mph and has a range of 600 miles. His turret-mounted gun shoots a shell up to a distance of 3.5 miles
with an explosive force of 200 Ibs. of TNT. His twin sonic cannon shoots powerful, ear-splitting bursts of concentrated
sound energy of up to 300 decibels. He can manipulate this energy in stereo (a result of the cannon's dual configuration)
to shatter anything from a crystal wine glass to a cinder-block bunker. In robot mode, he wields a 10-megawatt electron
gun and can fly. His armor is impervious to most radiation. He forms the left leg when he combines with his fellow
Combaticons Onslaught, Swindle, Vortex and Blast Off to form the
giant robot, Bruticus.
Weaknesses: Brawl is virtually incapable of being quiet, making him an easily identifiable target as he approaches a battle. In tank
mode, his turret is prone to getting locked in one position, particularly in dusty environments. Brawl is the slowest of the
Combaticons.
