Explanation of the conversion: Apparition's power is pretty straight forward. She can go Desolid and become selectively solid to effect the world while Desolid. While she has little in the way of attacks, she has tried to make up with that with her Martial Arts skills.
History: Tinya Wazzo has lead perhaps the most unusual life of all the Legionnaires. When Tinya's mother, current U.P. Ambassador Winema Wazzo met Tinya's father Murl Wazzo she did not know that Murl was a Carggite, able to split into three different bodies. Subsequently, when Tinya was born, her Carggite heritage enabled her to triplicate as well as her Bgztlian heritage enabling her to phase through solid objects. At the time of her birth, Murl owed an exorbitant amount to the Luck Lords, intergalactic casino owners feeding off of his addiction to gambling. Rather than expose his two devastating secrets to Winema, he took two of Tinya's bodies when she first triplicated and sold them into the bondage of the Luck Lords. Due to Tinya's mixed genetics the separation did not kill her.
The part of Tinya that remained with her mother flourished under the care and guidance of a sheltered upbringing. While attending one of her mother's U.P. meetings, Tinya assisted the newly formed Legion of Super-Heroes in
apprehending a group of terrorists. Later she accepted the Legion's offer of membership under the code name Apparition. She proved to be one of the Legion's strongest members as well as a valuable asset to the Legion Espionage Squad. Shortly after the Espionage Squad was created, Apparition's body was killed by a Daxamite White Triangle terrorist group. However, somehow her spirit had survived linked to her true love Ultra Boy. It is most probable that her spirit's survival is connected to her Carggite half, Ultra Boy's powers, or both. When Apparition's spirit followed Ultra Boy along with several other Legionnaires to the 20th century she was able to gain back her mortality with the help of Deadman, although not the ability to become tangible. Soon afterwards, Tinya married Jo Nah.
Tinya's second body, who was sold into the servitude of the Luck Lords,
lived most of her life working in the casinos. When Tinya's life was threatened,
she was sent to the 20th century by one of the Luck Lords using a time
displacer he won that afternoon. Not much is known of Tinya's life in the
20th century except that she suffered amnesia and joined the galactic police
force of the time, L.E.G.I.O.N. under the code name Phase.
While in the 20th century Apparition and Phase met and shortly thereafter
merged into one person. Due to Apparition's death, the two are unable to
separate. The whereabouts of Tinya's third body is currently unknown.
Apparition currently serves as a full time Legionnaire and Legion Espionage
Squad member.
Powers: Apparition can become immaterial, an ability common to all natives of Bgtzl. However, because of the constant practice she undergoes as a Legionnaire, she has developed the skills and concentration necessary to materialize only specific parts of her body. She has completed the Legion's combat training with some personal training from Karate Kid designed to specifically implement her phantom abilities.
Apparition wears a Legion flight ring which allows him to fly effortlessly and acts as a communicator. She wears a Legion trans suit which protects her from harm and in hostile environments such as outer space.
