  • Vital Data:

  • Created By: Sega, 1982.
  • Ported to Amiga by: Bignonia, 1995
  • System requirements:
Seems to run fine on Workbench 2.1 or higher, 512kb of system RAM, a joystick and any CPU.
  • System recommended: Same as above.
  • System Friendlyness Scale: 12x45x789x - The game does not multitask, it insists on opening up an NTSC screen and will not run on an RTG screen.

  • About The Game:

  • Synopsis: Zaxxon is a famous arcade game from Sega about 18 years ago. You pilot a ship in a 3D perspective down a terrain trying to destroy various storage facilities, gun batteries and missles, while dodging enemy fire.

I played an Amiga conversion of the C64 port by Bignona. It runs on just about any CPU. To run it on a modern machine you have to kill AGA and the CPU caches if you have them. I do this by writing a start-up script for it stating ''CPU nocache'' and ''KillAGA Zaxxon'' using the KillAGA program on the Aminet. The game appears almost identical to the C64 version, with only the credits changed and an introduction screen added.
