  • Vital Data:

  • Created By: Nintendo, 1981
  • Ported to Amiga by: Bignonia
  • System requirements: 512kb of chip RAM and a joystick.
  • System recommended: Same as above.
  • System Friendlyness Scale: 1xx45x789x - The game does not multitask, it only generates video displays and will not utilize RTG software. Once you start the game you need to reboot to end it.

  • About The Game:

  • Synopsis: Donkey Kong is the mother of all platform games. It is the first appearance of a little chap named Mario, who you control. Although it was never officially ported to the Amiga, it was ported to the C64, and this version was ported to the Amiga by Bignonia.

You guide Mario up girders and ladders, past barrels and other obstructions, to get his sweetheart back from Donkey Kong. You gain bonus points for collecting her lost possessions on the way.

In order to get it to run on my A1200, I had to download DK-1200 from the Aminet and then run it using the JST installer as a degrader. Of course if you have a fast enough system you may wish to try running the emulated C64 or Amiga MAME version, as they are more system friendly.
